Yale Pin Tumbler Padlock, circa 1913

Unlike most pin-tumbler locks where the key must be turned, this padlock had the user push the key in to allow the shackle to be rotated out of the locked position.

            Corbin Master Ring Cylinder

The Corbin master ring system was a unique master keying idea that worked using two separate shearlines. A similar idea can be found in the modern Small Format Interchageable Core (SFIC) cylinder, where a separate shearline allows the user to remove the entire cylinder from the door.
